POS tiles
ShopTech adds five tiles to Shopify POS. They’re how the register talks to ShopTech: checking out work orders, taking deposits, and starting jobs and special orders without leaving the sale.
Add the tiles
Section titled “Add the tiles”On each register, edit the smart grid in Shopify POS and add the ShopTech tiles you want. Most shops put Work Orders and Special Orders on the home screen.
Link the register to ShopTech
Section titled “Link the register to ShopTech”The first time a staff member taps a ShopTech tile, POS asks them to Link this device to ShopTech with their ShopTech PIN. That links the POS staff member to the ShopTech staff record, so work orders and deposits are recorded against the right person. Each ShopTech account links to one POS user; admins can unlink one from Settings → Staff in ShopTech.
The tiles
Section titled “The tiles”Work Orders — Take a deposit or check out. A searchable list of every work order. Open one to Check Out (or Check Out Remaining), Take Deposit, Mark as Picked Up, or Void Work Order. See Check out and deposits.
New Work Order — Create a work order. The same four steps as in the app: customer, service item, due date, then labor and products. It ends with Print item tag and Print drop-off receipt on the register’s receipt printer. See Create a work order.
Special Orders — Parts held for customers. Lists parts to order, on order, arrived, and ready for pickup. Open one to Add to cart at pickup, Take a deposit, Pay in full now, or Hand over to customer for a prepaid part. See From arrival to pickup.
New Special Order — Order a part for a customer. Customer, product or a description, quantity, urgency, and notes for the buyer. The request lands on the Clipboard.
Register Item — Add a customer and serial numbers. For bikes and other serialized products in the cart. See Registered items.
